2020 Catholic Man of the Year
Raymond Sheridan, DDS
The award was presented by Bishop Robert Brennan
on February 7, 2020
Dr. Ray Sheridan, a graduate of Ohio State University's dental school, is married to Debbie, and they have a son, Cory, who is currently studying at the same school. In his nomination, Dr. Sheridan was described as "a very selfless person who gives abundantly of his time, talent and treasure. He doesn't wait until he sees an opportunity to help another; he goes out looking for opportunities to help others." He regularly visits the Dominican Republic to provide pro-bono dental services. He participates in Asia's Hope, a Columbus-based organization that provides family-style residential care for orphans at high risk for sexual exploitation in Cambodia, Thailand and Indonesia. Closer to home, he works with Mary's Hands, feeding the homeless on weekends.
The 2020 award luncheon has been generously sponsored by the Bottoms Up Diaper Drive, founded by Tim and Jo Welsh, to provide diapers to those in need. For information, see https://bottomsup.life/.
